Message from Kathleen

"Believe that you have the capacity to reach your highest potential as we learn to be kinder to ourselves throughout life.  In this process, we might need to unlearn all the false belief systems and limiting boundaries we subconsciously impose on ourselves.  Counselling might be the start of this adventurous journey."

Psychotherapist

Kathleen is an Australian trained psychotherapist and counsellor with over 10 years of experience working with clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds.  She also works with the LGBT community.

She was born in Hong Kong and moved to Australia at the age of eight.  Her undergraduate degrees were Arts (Japanese studies) and Law from the University of New South Wales, Australia.  She attained her Japanese Proficiency Test Level 1 in Japan in 2005 and started pursuing her passion as a psychotherapist in Australia thereafter.  She received her psychotherapy and counselling training at a renowned counselling centre in Sydney, Jansen Newman Institute over a decade ago.

Kathleen specialises in helping her clients regain their innate potentials for personal growth and self-healing.  She believes that all kinds of stress, anger and anxiety issues are opportunities for resolving the underlying emotions that are dormant and often neglected over a long period of time.  When brought to the surface for healing, they bring about immense capacity for enrichment in self-confidence, self-understanding and therefore genuinely bring about a more authentic self that is ready to positively influence any relationships they have with the outside world.

She believes that a happier and more satisfying life is made possible by a commitment to oneself to unlearn all the detrimental beliefs we have of the world and of ourselves and relearn how to relate to ourselves once more in a more positive and beneficial perspective.  She believes that developing better habits are one of the secret keys to success in becoming a happier and kinder person in the long-run.

She uniquely uses a variety of techniques such as solution-focused therapy, mindfulness training, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well as other creative techniques to help bring about healing and personal growth.

Kathleen is now a mother of two children, she believes that on the journey of life, all of our different life experiences act as a gateway for psychotherapists to learn to empathize, understand and connect with all the little inner child we all have within ourselves waiting to be reunited.

Kathleen is fluent in English and Cantonese.
