Children's Counselling
We believe that every child is unique and deserve a loving, supportive and nurturing environment throughout their different stages of development.
Our Children’s Counsellors mostly use “Play Therapy'' approach when counselling children.
What is "Play Therapy"?
Play is children's natural language. It is an important aspect of a child's life. Unlike adults, children may not be able to articulate their inner emotions and needs through words.
"Play Therapy" provides an opportunity for children to express their feelings and inner difficulties through play.
Through the provision of a safe, caring and supportive environment, we help children discover their inner resources, which in turn enable them to grow in a more healthy and positive way.
"Play Therapy" is normally useful for children aged three to twelve, who experience:
-
Anger, violence or temper tantrums
-
Loss of motivation
-
Anxiety, worrisome and fearful behaviours
-
Prolonged periods of sadness
-
Strong dislike of school
-
Loss of appetite
-
Disobedience and uncooperative behaviours
-
Withdrawn behaviour
-
Heavy attachment to parents
-
Return to younger behaviour
-
Difficulty concentrating
-
Sleeping difficulties
-
Disharmonious relationship with siblings
-
Grief or separation with loved ones (e.g. parents' divorce, death of grandparents or pets)
"Play Therapy" supports a child to gain more positive self-image and self-confidence to become more creative and resourceful when confronted with problems. The natural result is that they become more positive and happier.

Parental Consultation
Parenthood could be one of the most difficult jobs in the world.
Have you ever asked the following questions?
-
"Why does he have to talk to me in such disrespectful manner?"
-
"It seems like she does not have any friends at school.....what should I do?"
-
"Why can't he take more initiative with his studies and homework?"
-
"The teacher complained AGAIN today!"
-
"My son does not talk to me anymore...."
-
"How come she always seems so sad?"
-
"My partner always takes an entirely different approach when it comes to child discipline. We always end up in arguments."
If you resonate with the above situations or feel stressful about parenting, you are welcome to contact us for a parental consultation.
We usually meet the parents first to gain a better understanding of the family background, the child's needs and parents' concerns.
Parents play a vital role in a child's development and of course in the healing process.
We provide regular progress updates to enable parents to gain a better understanding about their child.
